One of the benefits of a Phi Beta Kappa membership is lifelong access to the Phi Beta Kappa community. For the seventh consecutive year, Phi Beta Kappa is partnering with its network of local alumni associations to host Key Connections events this fall. The Key Connections event series offers the opportunity for members to connect with one another in their local communities, harkening back to the friendship and fellowship that are cornerstones of the Society’s founding. Attending a Key Connections event is a great way for new members to network with other Phi Betes, for members who’ve recently moved to make friends in their new home, and for all members to connect with others who have a love of learning.
This year’s Key Connections events will kick off with a national, virtual panel in September with a focus on pursuing nonprofit and advocacy careers. ΦBK members who are experts in these fields will discuss their work, share how their liberal arts and sciences education supports their career, and explain why advocacy and nonprofit jobs are essential to helping our communities thrive. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to panelists, and the event will be recorded and shared as a resource.
ΦBK alumni associations will follow the national event with special local programs focused on connection, ranging from networking events to museum tours and book discussions. Last year, more than 20 associations hosted local Key Connections events in addition to the many engaging events they offer all year round.
